Blog 4: To live alone

I’m going to write about to live alone in Santiago. I had lived with my grandmother since 2010, when I arrived for first time to Santiago. Unfortunately she died three weeks ago, and now I’m the manager of the house. Obviously it involves many advantages but also disadvantages for me. In the first place,  I clearly got more individual freedom, so I can do many more things than before. Before, it was very limited for me, for example it really bothered me when I came late to the house in the night and I saw that my grandmother had locked the door from the inside because she forgot that I was going to arrive late. So now, this situation will be different. On the other hand if I’m the manager of the house, I will be the responsible for the bills management like the water, electricity, gas and others. In this way I have to be very tidy and organized with this.
Additionally I have been considering to adopt a dog because the house in general is very huge for me. Thus I think that a dog might be a good company in the house.

Blog 3: Madagascar

I would like to travel to Madagascar, because the country is a mixture between landscapes from Africa and the Polynesia (especially in the beaches), and this makes that the place is very exotic and suitable for the vacations. About the country I just know that it is an island to Southeast of Africa, that exist an animal called “lemur”-which is typical from this place-, and  an animated film was made with the same name of the country “Madagascar”. Really I would like get around a lot places in the country both in inland and in the coast. Likewise I would like to know the culture and the traditions about the people living there.
While the country is very attractive in images, in principle I want to meet the place and after to decide if I would like or not to study or live. But taking into account only the photos and videos, I would like to live there. On the other hand is likely that exist material record about past populations, in which the archeologists can to work, thus also would be interesting to study in this place.

Blog 1: First Semester

The last semester I entered to the third year in Anthropology, and to my first year in the specialty of Archaeology. Essentially the last semester allows approaching me deepest to my career through the subjects like Prehistory and Archaeology Theory, and now I want to continue in this way of rapprochement to the archaeology.
In my free time I enjoyed playing basquetball with my friends in the university, although in this new semester I pretend to practice other physic activity like jogging.
The last semester while I achieved of passing hard subjects, I lost two subjects due to the Secretary Studies cancelled me both, because we don't reach to complete the basics contents with the strike. One of them I’ll take again this semester and the other I must to take the next year. Particularly I think that the last semester was my pleasure but also it was very challenging as first year of the specialty archaeological.

Blog 2: A forest Ranger

If I were not studying anthropology, I´ll would like to work in the forests of Chile like a ranger, mainly natural reserves in the south. In general you don´t need to have specials skills for this job, but if somebody wants to work in these places, have to get basic knowledge about the natural landscape and to know security measures in cases of emergency. Also whereas the job involves a long time far from the society and the modernity, you must to have much patience. Principally I like this job because it is near to the nature and you get peace of mind, isolated of the stress and the contamination. Obviously the disadvantage is the communication with the rest of the world (specially your family and friends), and if something bad occurs, can be very complicated establish contact for assistance.
Now if you want to apply for the job, is not difficult. You have to register your personal data in the CONAF website´s, which you find the several natural places where you could to work.
